Young doctors from Lorraine celebrated at a ceremony

The doctors in the class of 2023-2024 at the Université de Lorraine were celebrated on Friday 29 November 2024 at the annual doctoral ceremony held in Metz.

The ceremony was attended by Hélène Boulanger (President of the Université de Lorraine), Sébastien Descotes-Genon (Regional Academic Delegate for Research and Innovation), Clotilde Boulanger (Vice-President in charge of doctoral policy), Alain Hehn (Vice-President of the Scientific Council), the directors of the doctoral schools and the Maison du Doctorat team.

They are :

Félix Bastit, who defended his thesis entitled ‘An Economic Approach of Multiple Risks in Forests’ on 22 September 2023 under the supervision of Marielle Brunette. Félix Bastit was also awarded the prize for the SJPEG doctoral school.

Daniel Joël Elanga Mendogo, who defended his thesis entitled ‘Experimental analyses of the socio-economic behaviour of and towards refugees’, supervised by Serge Garcia, on 6 June 2024.

Toho Hien, who defended his thesis entitled ‘Contributions à une approche interdisciplinaire d’évaluation du capital naturel et des services écosystémiques rendus par les sols’ under the supervision of Serge Garcia and Christophe Schwartz.

Richard Koenig, who defended his thesis entitled ‘Crop insurance: from perception and adoption issues to adaptation challenges’ on 21 December 2023, under the supervision of Marielle Brunette.

We would like to congratulate them once again, as well as the other BETA doctors from Lorraine in this year’s class – Tristan Amiri, Valentin Mathieu and Giulia Vaglietti – who were unfortunately unable to attend!
