Yanto Chandra (City University of Hong Kong)
who will present his paper entitled
Experimental Paradigm in Social Entrepreneurship Research: A Legitimacy Perspective of Social Enterprise Patronage
Abstract: Drawing on theory of legitimacy and social entrepreneurship, this multiyear research project applies online experiment on British consumers, lab experiment with students in a large public university in Hong Kong, and field experiment with several participating social enterprises to showcase the possibility and challenges in conducing experiments in social entrepreneurship. This pushes the frontier of research in this discipline that has been dominated by qualitative research and survey design. The project offers insights into how to better ensure theory and method fit as a way to make new breakthrough in the field.
