Résumé du chapitre :

Gender equality and women’s empowerment are essential for sustainable development. This chapter offers an overview of gender inequalities in the twentieth and twenty-first centuries, delving into the historical context of such disparities. The chapter highlights the significant progress made through the implementation of legal frameworks and policies. However, despite the progress made, gender inequalities persist, leaving women susceptible to adverse consequences in their daily lives and making them more vulnerable to economic shocks. By understanding gender inequalities and taking proactive measures to address them, societies have the potential to foster sustainable and prosperous developments for all.
