BETA Days 2025

28 March 2025

For the 2025 edition of the BETA Days, all BETA members were invited to Strasbourg on March 20 and 21.

The program included paper presentations BETA’s six research groups , with at least one presentation per group, as well as cross-disciplinary research on two of BETA’s six societal challenges to sustainable development.

We salute Murielle Djiguembé, Gisèle Umbhauer, Alexandre Mayol, Émilien Macault, Francis Biesmans, Virginie Gouverneur, Rémy Guichardaz, Julien Pénin, Rodolphe Dos Santos Ferreira et Maxime Desmarais-Tremblay for their fascinating presentations, and Jocelyn Donze, Émilien Macault, Nathalie Picard, Maxime Desmarais-Tremblay, Sylvie Rivot and Bertrand Koebel for taking part in discussions with the speakers.

Find the detailed program here.

These days were also an opportunity to get to know our new doctoral students in their first year of their thesis. They were invited to present their backgrounds and thesis topics during dedicated sessions. We were delighted to welcome Carlos Berrout, Lise Martins-Nourry, Marie Bourgun, Joseph Kokouvi Djafon, Ayrton Guérillon, Marco Monnier, Godwin Agandan, Marin Guinard, Abdoul Latif Sokoundou, Vinciane Chavand, Qingrui Li and Anna Roinard.

Last but not least, these days were marked by BETA’s Annual General Meeting.

We would like to thank the organizing committee, Magali Jaoul-Grammare, Serge Garcia, Isabelle Maret et Clément Mathonnat, for having made this excellent event possible, as studious as it was convivial. Next year, Émilien Macault will replace Clément Mathonnat on the committee for the organization of these days, which will take place in Nancy.
