First EFNUM-IUP Finances-BETA Conference – Household credit in France: History, issues, players
The 2024/11/04
From 9:00am to 7:00pm
Event details :
The scientific day on 4th November 2024, co-organised by the IUP Finance department of the Nancy Faculty of Law, Economics and Management, the BETA research laboratory and the EFNUM Chair, is devoted to the issue of household debt.
French household debt is one of the most significant social and economic phenomena of our time. Stigmatised in the past and promoted for the acquisition of individual property, credit is now a normal part of consumer life for the vast majority. However, this normality has sometimes had dramatic consequences for personal trajectories when debt becomes too heavy a burden.
Recent social science research will be presented on the financial exclusion caused by excessive debt in French households; new players: credit consolidation and credit recovery; changes in case law on household credit; and the history of consumer credit.
A round table of scientists and professionals from the credit sector will conclude the scientific day.
