Inauguration of the Laboratory for Experimental Economics of Strasbourg (LEES)
15 January 2025
TweetOn Thursday 19 December 2024, after several months of work, BETA organised the inauguration of the renovated Laboratory for Experimental Economics of Strasbourg (LEES), in the presence of the various players who made the restructuring possible and members of the laboratory.
Created in 1997, the LEES is one of the oldest and best-known experimental economics laboratories in France. Since its creation, it has had a dedicated engineer, Kene Boun-My, a CNRS Crystal Medallist, who has made a major contribution to its national and international recognition and to its development. Now run by Jérôme Hergueux (CNRS researcher) with the support of Kene Boun-My, the LEES is accredited as an official Unistra platform (Cortecs network).
Following its recent renovation, it can now accommodate a larger number of subjects for on-site experiments and, thanks to a redesigned and reworked space, is more open to teaching activities in addition to research activities. The LEES enables experiments to be carried out each year with around 3,000 subjects (on-site, online and field experiments) and generates a turnover of 50,000 euros.
The renovation of the LEES has been made possible thanks to the support of our supervisory bodies and partners: the University of Strasbourg’s AMI IdEx STRUCTURATION 2023 (‘Learning from experience: an intuitive approach to teaching economics and behavioural sciences’ project), the University of Strasbourg’s Research Department, the Cortecs Network, the Strasbourg Faculty of Economics and Management and INRAE.
We would like to thank them warmly.
