Podcast: Arnaud Wittmer explains the four-day week report in the UK
31 March 2025

Podcast “The four-day week” by Arnaud Wittmer, PhD student in economics at BETA, on the Euradio program “L’éco, du concept au concret”, March 18, 2025.
Between June and December 2022 in the UK, 61 companies and around 2,900 workers took part in an experiment with a four-day working week. According to a study conducted by researchers at Cambridge University and Boston College on behalf of “4 Day Week Global”, the results of the test, published in February 2023, were largely positive, with 92% of participating companies choosing to continue the experiment.
For Euradio, Arnaud Wittmer takes a look back at this experience and analyses the report “The results are in: the UK’s four-day week pilot” published by Autonomy in February 2023. Through this example, and beyond the results of the study, the PhD student aims to shed light on the methodology used and the scientific process.
