School performance in rich countries: the work of Nadir Altinok and Claude Diebolt cited in Sweden

In an article entitled ‘Declining school performance in rich countries’, the Swedish magazine Världen Om cites the work carried out in the economics of education by two BETA researchers, Nadir Altinok and Claude Diebolt.

Extract: ‘Last year, economists Nadir Altinok and Claude Diebolt published data analysing the results of a series of international comparisons, in an attempt to determine how countries’ respective school systems have evolved over time. Their figures suggest that the quality of education in a group of 20 rich countries rose fairly rapidly in the 1980s and 1990s, but has stagnated since then.’
