Intitulé : “A Multidisciplinary Approach of the Decision-Making Process”
Résumé : How to make a decision under uncertainty? Since the beginning of my PhD, my research interests have been mainly focused on answering this question. To understand the cognitive processes of decision-making I rely on a multi-disciplinary approach. My questions come from decision theory, my tools from experimental economics and my models from cognitive sciences. Using these different fields allows me to go beyond outcome-based results and to search for the decision process itself. My studies showed that such decision implies multiple cognitive mechanisms. One of them is at the core of my past and ongoing research: the abilities to form adequate subjective beliefs about our choices. I show how this metacognition is central to study, explain and predict behaviors in different domains. Complementary to this, I recently extend this approach to the question of social preferences. My future research will continue to tackle these questions, still with a particular focus on the cognitive processes themselves.
