Title : Pro-developping countries growth
Author(s) : Jalal El ouardighi
Abstract : I use the pro-poor growth and convergence analytical frameworks to study the dynamic of the world income growth. I propose an integrated approach which allows to show whether the world growth has been favourable to the developing countries, and to assess the world income mobility over countries. The empirical illustration considers a panel of 125 countries observed during the 1989-2006 period. The results point out that the world income growth was not pro-developing countries; they show rather a relative impoverishment of the low-income countries. The results suggest also that the bulk of income mobility took place in the middle-income economies.
